I must admit you've brought back a dark period for me, one in which I eschewed good comics for comics such as these. I went from the late 80s loving the medium and from then on just shoveled crap into my eyes for about five years. Oh, well at least the (non-Liefeld) art was pretty.

The one I'm drinking from. I was making fun of the fact that I'm kinda inebriated right now. Drunk enough to realize that I can't function well enough to do anything other than typing. This phase of drunkenness is usually the time at the bar when everyone is your friend.

On another, unrelated note, can I just tell you that I've lurked here for a while and I've always enjoyed your posts? I might not always agree with you, but I always find what you have to say interesting.

I think my favorite part with Lashina was the slow intro. We had this incredible badass, so hard but so ordinary looking. No flashy powers to signal who she was. And she made Waller kinda nervous, I think.

A few years ago (close to a decade even?) DC started printing certain perennial comics in oversized, hardcover editions. The umbrella term for the format was "Absolute". These are HUGE, slick collections with bonus material and although cumbersome, very handsome and impressive.

This treatment is reserved for highly acclaimed comics (Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, Authority, New Frontier...) but I'm such a Suicide Squad geek that I think the title deserves that format. Unfortunately, the series didn't even rate a "Showcase" treatment (in black and white newsprint) despite a solicitation and release date in previews. I guess SS lives on within us "in the know".

I am equally a fan, huge fan. It was the only "dark age" book from the 90's that i think worked. I have a bunch I wish to post( Phoenix Gambit), you do the same :)
