And the fact that Norman expected any other reaction from Strucker simply serves as yet another example of how profoundly unqualified Norman is to be the "master manipulator" that Marvel insists on portraying him as, because in terms of how well he understands other people, Norman is, and always has been, so profoundly socially dysfunctional that he makes even nerdy Peter Parker look like the epitome of smooth grace by comparison. The only credible way that Norman's takeover of the Marvel Universe can be believed is if you buy off on him being as charming and as gifted at reading other people as Joe Quesada thinks Norman is, but the reality is that Norman is so openly psychotic that trusting him not to fuck up, in a way that should destroy his entire power-base, is like trusting Pat Buchanan to avoid saying stupid shit about the Jews.

I think he's just saying "Haha, I killed your children." I don't think he's really trying to get a reaction out of Strucker; even though they're insulting each other, Strucker still wants Norman to do something for him.

On the contrary - check out Norman's evil grin of glee as he tells Strucker "I killed your kids," and his disappointed frown after Strucker basically tells him, "Thank you for doing so." Norman clearly wanted to get under Strucker's skin, and the fact that he thought that line would do it shows how profoundly he misunderstands Strucker

It vaguely amused me that Norman emphasized 'SON', because Norman is so chauvinistically fixated on the notion of the worthy heir. Whereas I think Strucker had the briefest respect only for his daughter. Not that he cares about family really..

Or to put it another way, even in the context of a playful insult contest between Norman and Strucker, Norman's comments make no sense, given Strucker's character and his feelings toward his own children. When someone is a psycho who considers their kids to be as much of a disappointment as Strucker saw Andrea and Andreas, telling them "I killed your kids" is like trying to insult a guy by telling him, "Oh, yeah? Well ... YOU HAVE A HUGE PENIS!" It doesn't really WORK as something that's going to BOTHER them, in other words.

Even in his milder moments, I don't EVER recall him being portrayed as a proud papa, which makes sense when you consider that he's old-world nobility with a genuinely held sense of ideology, whereas his kids are pretty much decadent nihilistic Eurotrash who always had a slightly Millar-esque sibling relationship.

Dear God, I hope they aren't giving Norman Thorazine. That shit is ancient (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorpromazine), extremely sedating (which would indicate that it's not what Norm's on, I'm guessing) and hardly ever used any more. Then again, Strucker's not exactly a spring chicken, so he may be a bit out of date on his psychopharmacology.

(Interestingly, Lamictal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamotrigine) is a mood stabilizer, and Xanax (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alprazolam) is used for anxiety. What is it exactly that Strucker sees Norm as having? Or did the writer just put down the first three medications that came to mind? I'd probably set Norm up with some Abilify (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aripiprazole), seeing as how it's used to treat symptoms common to both psychosis and mania, such as grandiosity or delusions.)
