Salaak's first order is to stop recruiting new Green Lanterns, to prevent death, till the situation on Oa has settled.

I'm absolutely shocked that one of the Guardians' new laws is actually a good idea.

Well, some would argue about putting Guy third in line.

Interesting to see the Alphas steadily descending into Morrison's original characterisation for them as the irritating FBI to the Grren Lantern's hard-working cops - especially as Lanterns such as Green Man were so nice back when they were normal...

As an organization, the Alpha Lanterns were always doomed to failure, for the exact same reasons as the Manhunters, and they're one of many examples of why the Lanterns Corps are better off with all the Guardians dead, because the Guardians have always seemed the resent the free will of their own Lanterns, even though Green Lanterns are selected on the basis of their willpower.

In that sense, the Guardians really are kind of like Mr. Zuss in Archibald MacLeish's J.B. - they want their servants to have free will, but they'll punish them out of sheer spite for exercising it too much.

He's been around for awhile but normally in the 'somewhat good but often stuffy' administrator type who normally clashes with Guy and other Earth GLs about not following rules. The Guardian's door guy and administrator.

This? Yea, this is him being awesome and reminding us *why* he's the Guardians right-hand guy :)

I just love how it's the prissy, bureaucracy-loving Salaak that completely OWNS the Alpha Lanterns.

I'd been wanting to see Guy punch them out in a fit of rage, but this is even better.

So Salaak is in charge of the corps, with Guy and Kyle as next in line.

Is it wrong to hope that the guardians stay gone and Salaak is dead at least for a while after BN? Cause I really want to see Guy and Kyle leading the whole corps. I want to see Hal's face when he learns this. I really want to see Sinestro's face when he finds the GL's with Guy and 'the alley rat', as he calls him, in charge. it could be a wonderful new direction for the book!

I don't want Salaak dead (not after this!), but out of the way for some CIC-Kyle and Guy? Heck yea.

i've never heard the words Clarissi or Illustres used as ranks for the GL or anything for that matter, are those new words or am i just out of date?

New words for old ranks. Clarissi = chief administrator or whatever Salaak's position been called in the past, Illustres = Honor guard.
