I remember reading this blogpost about Thor being *possibly* the greatest shittalker in the Marvel Universe. Yes, better than (as most recently referenced in Dark Avengers #9) Spider-Man or Deadpool. Well, ever since then I've been a huge follower. Loved the most recent run on Thor...he's been written pretty well imo.




YES. If any of you have played MUAII, try taking on Thor as one of your characters. You will love the comments he makes, ranging from calling Songbird a wench to calling Reed a fool. Yes, if you don't share Thor's love for putting someone down, you will by the end of the game.

You know, while JMS thor is 100% better than the elizabethean Thor, he could be *so* much better if he'd just read some of the Eddas and crib some of the style therefrom. Alliterate damnit!

However... I also think Thor can do the reverse as well. One of my fav. moments of this was in the Secret Wars. Wolverine questions the idea of Captain America being leader because "he is the least of us" in terms of power. There is a moment of silence as everyone ponders this. Thor then steps forward and makes it clear that Cap is the on he will follow.

Yeah that is one of my favourite Thor/Cap interactions. Much respect there.

He also displayed the reverse very well in the crossover he had with X-Factor during the Mutant Massacre. A very honourable guy, that Thor fellow..

Jeez, What I wouldn't give for a Wonder Woman-Thor team up. They'd be great together!

Wonder Woman's current team would be good. But yeah Walt Simonson's definitely the go to guy for writing some classic Thor. I have to admit though that I'm not as sold on his artwork. (Though sometimes it can be quite striking..)

Though having said that I did like his work on the X-Men-Teen Titans. So if he was raising his game to that level, then heck yeah, I'd be happy with him doing both!

Agreed on Thor's serious amount of badassery. There is an arguement that that the Silver Surfer is more powerful than Thor, but for most of Surfer's incarnations he was notoriously hard to piss off. But Thor, (unless you were somone like the Hulk who could take a lot a lot of damage,) you just REALLY did not want to get on the wrong side of that guy..

AS for MUA II, I'm unable to get my copy until next Friday, but I've heard that the voice acting for Thor is really bad. Much worse than what was in the first MUA. (And that wasn't quite perfect to begin with..)So I seriously hope his dialogue is a lot of fun, to make up for the bad voice casting..

I don't think Thor actually *works* voice-wise. I know this is because well, I have a hard time with Marvel Thor in general. (The first real "grown up book" I read was "Gods and Heroes of Norse mythology" for chrissakes) but the entire Lee-esque dialogue really doesen't work. There is a particular kind of rhytm that works for viking stories, it's very laconic, and very... Flat? Not really the right word, but it tends to be a few words of badassery rather than a long harangue. And Marvel's Thor is not it.

The Hulk/Thor animated thing? Totally not working for me. Even if I think it was a good voice for the comic-incarnation. It's just not a good Thor.

I don't like the fifth panel. Something seems off. I do like that Thor will get to smack around the Dark Avengers. Hell, PLEASE bring in "Hawkeye" It'll be hilarious!
