Ricochet, that cat can do anything

Okay, because someone mentioned in my earlier post that Ricochet (of the Slingers) is currently not having much fun in his chosen profession, six pages (out of roughly forty) from Richochet's Slingers #1 (there were four variants of that issue, one for each character, with their POV on the events in that issue).



Scans not mine. Joseph Harris wrote it, ChrisCross pencilled it and it has Richochet (Johnny Gallo) and Hornet (Eddie McDonough).

I always think of that one bit of dialogue during his (Or Peter's) first appearance in costume that goes something like that:

"He's jumping around... he's got a big R on his back... he must be Rabbit-Man!"

Was there ever an explanation of how these people got Spidey's old costumes?

according to Wiki a Golden Age guy named Black Marvel struck a deal with Mephisto. I'm not actually sure they're his old costumes as opposed to duplicates.

Yep, duplicates, with powers added to some of them. For instance, the original Hornet armour could fly and shoot darts, but the duplicate also added super strength (which Spider-Man didn't need). The original Dusk costume let its wearer turn sort of invisible in shadows, but the duplicate let Cassie teleport and stuff, more like Cloak's cloak.

I think Prodigy's costume might have given him super strength, while the original was just bulletproof with fake muscles. I don't think Ricochet's had any extras... but Johnny had super strength and agility, and something suspiciously similar to a spider-sense, anyway.

At one point Spidey pulls them out of a chest in his attic and says "so where the heck did they get theirs from?" Especially since no one but Spidey, MJ, and maybe Hobie Brown knew that all four costumes belonged to the same person.
