If you've read the first look, you've probably seen the debate here over whether or not Norah's "rice and beans" comment was racist. Well, Norah falls back onto the "I'm not racist, I'm equally obnoxious to everyone!"



I really hate Norah. Michelle's grown on me a little (mainly because she's a victim in all this) but I'm hoping Norman drops Norah off a bridge.

Also, the issue marks the return of the Black Cat...

So, basically BND is Spidey as a Sitcom - Three's Company style? Just like Jemas wanted to turn the FF into basically a suburban sitcom with super-powers and Waid and Wieringo quit on that idea?

And I have no doubt there are plans for MJ. I also have no doubt that there are no plans for MJ AND Peter. Who's Wacker trying to fool? There's no way after justifying OMD and telling all it's critics to shut up, they're going to give those same critics the old Peter/MJ dynamic again (just sans marriage). There's probably another Bobby Carr-like character waiting in the wings for MJ.

This is conflicting--on one hand, I do like Spider-Man/Black Cat, but the Michelle/Nora thing just sounds goddamn terrible and Peter sounds really whiney and just laudable when complaining to Cat about the crazy women in his life. But, while it didn't go this far, Kevin Smith's Spider-Man/Black Cat mini did this far, far, far better, so no real need to buy this.

*Just yesterday* I say the problem with modern day superhero comics is a mix of "Womens is crazy!" mixed with "Superheroes are crazy!" Alan Moore made us think all stories had to go "Superheroes are crazy!" and our modern writers and editors think "Womens is crazy!"

And (slight spoiler) it looks like a theory I had about a certain New Avenger is correct.

Thus, it seems I can predict the future. Of course, all I have now is that John Byrne will go back to work at Marvel after Joe Quesada leaves.

Felicia said the moment she saw him - even though she didn't remember who he was under the mask, it all came flooding back. So, no she doesn't know he he is, just that they had a relationship.
