Gotta say, compared to last year, this year has been good to me and am very much looking forward to 2012! :)

Among the positives of 2011...I guess rejoining this comm after my two year hiatus from it. I was originally a member of the LJ comm before it got flushed by the LJ Gods, and was mostly active there in 2007-2008 (around the time I actually got into mainstream comics). Admittedly I was reluctant to rejoin this comm at first since I noticed things were a bit...well *different* from the original LJ version, but after being here the last couple of months, I gotta say it's been worth it. :}

Comics-wise? Heh...honestly? I've only read three titles that were published this year prior to the relaunch: Power Girl, Gotham City Sirens, and Birds of Prey Vol. 2; all of them being girl-leading books. (You are all now free to tell me I've missed out on a lot. I've had one person tell me that already). :P

All three books were okay this year. Admittedly I felt Power Girl's book was better under the Jimmy Palmiotti/Amanda Conner team since they captured the character's wit and essence beautifully while bringing a sense of fun to the book. It was certainly a nice change of pace from the grim and gritty books I was accustomed to reading. Under Judd Winick...the book had its moments but didn't have the same flavour from the previous run. :(

So now I wrap up this post (and the last remaining hours of the year) with my favourite BOP scene of 2011!!!! :D

Is there booze? Oh yes. Epic fun? Most definitely. Naked beefcakey men? Haha, you'll have to click and see! ;) )

As the saying goes...HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS! ;)

Newsarama recently interviewed Catwoman penciller Guillem March, and of course, among the questions asked (especially given the still controversial BatCat sex scene at the end of #1) is where the artist himself stands on the topic of sex in comics.

He was actually surprised the BatCat sex scene was more controversial than he thought it would be )

As everyone here knows, DC has gotten a shit tonne of criticism for their portrayal of sex in their New 52 line. Not without reason of course since the sex that has been portrayed so far has been nothing short of fanservice.

But then, back in 1990, DC got away with this... )

Hey gals and guys!

I would like to start posting here some of my own webcomics parodies I've been doing for this past year (or so).
I've been meaning to post some of those on scans-daily for quite some time... but never got to for some reason.

Let's start with a quick introduction and then some of my first comic strips!

So last month IGN started a poll asking readers whether they preferred Marvel or DC in a number of different categories including heroes, villains, movies, and games.

What were the results?! Well you'll have to click behind the cut to find out!

Surprised? Or was it what you thought would be the case? )

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

TL;DR version: Amnesia and bad continuity have left Wonder Woman unsure of her abilities, so she asks the JLA to monitor her next 12 missions to make sure she's still fit for duty. Black Canary is the guest-star this issue, and she comes across a bit better than Aquaman did last issue.

Wonder Woman #216, 1975. Selected panels from a 20-page story.
