The Girl In Question

More casting announcements for the 2011 Captain America: The First Avenger (apparently they've switched the parts of the title around, which I think works a lot better).

The Red Skull has been cast
Mar. 12th, 2010 03:13 pmAs I wrap up for the weekend, True Believers, one last note that our faith in Marvel movies may be rewarded. Heat Vision Blog of the Hollywood Reporter has the name of the man who will oppose Marvel's most inspiring hero.

The wizards have done it again.
Oct. 12th, 2009 02:36 pmI know here at S_D we talk about and love da comix; the good, the bad, the crack. And as much as I enjoying sharing with you and sharing your view points, what it comes down to is the stories, the art, the spirit and the shades of emotion spread across the page and captures in ink and and pixel. That said, today I experienced for the first time in a long time genuine AWE and WONDER again as I haven't in years. I welled up and laughed my ass off within 90 seconds. That pure joy and eagerness to see what happens next, without doubting the skills and talent of the artists and story tellers. So, I humbly would like to share with the scans_daily 2.0 board, the trailer for the latest Pixar film (behind the cut).
Cinefools has an interview up with the writer of the new Wonder Woman movie (which apparently still exists), Brent Strickland.
CF: Earlier in the year there was a website set up where each day a piece of a poster was reveled to show Megan Fox as Wonder Woman what are your thoughts of her as Princess Diana?
BS: If somebody put me in charge of casting I would certainly ask Megan Fox to screen test.
Welp, he's got the character down pat.
And for legality...

Movie Avengers line-up finalized
Jul. 26th, 2009 12:30 pmAccording to io9, it'll be Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Nick Fury (he counts? That's like saying Franklin Richards is a member of the Fantastic Four), with possibly the Black Widow and "members of the Hulk universe" as additional team members.
I don't know, it's a bit disappointing to me. On the one hand, it's good they're not going the route of some other comic books movies and just cramming the story with a bunch ofmutants Avengers. On the other hand, is it really the Avengers if you don't have Hawkeye? The Vision? Ant-Man? Wonder Man? To say nothing of the fact that 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes' are three white guys. You can't throw in the Wasp/Giant-Girl, She-Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Photon? Just Scarlett Johannson, maybe? It just seems to me like the point of an ensemble movie is that you can incorporate some of the more minor characters who couldn't carry an entire movie by themselves.

The Losers cast by Jock
Jul. 24th, 2009 11:00 pmA few years ago Vertigo published this awesome comic book called The Losers, which was about a top CIA special ops team who were betrayed by their superiors and now were trying to get payback, clear their names and protect America. What was so awesome about the book is that although the premise and in fact many of the situations in the book at first glance seemed a bit cliche, but the way they were resolved and handled was at the same time completely awesome, innovative and surprising as hell. Seriously, I can't recommend the book enough and actually turns out, thanks to AICN about this, that you can read the first issue free online, http://www.dccomics.com/media/excerpts/1 687_1.pdf.
