'Golden Age' is one of my favorite arcs from Bendis' and Maleev's run on Daredevil. It's just a great combination of writing from Bendis and art from Maleev. It's also largely a stand-alone story so you just need to be familiar with the basic concept of Daredevil being outed as Matt Murdock and later declaring himself the 'Kingpin' of Hell's Kitchen.

This might be me worrying over nothing. My hangup over Spider-Man becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is this...
MCU heroes are not hesitant about killing the bad guys. Will this carry over to MCU Spider-Man?
Trigger warning for superhero morality.

Ah Hitler, if any historical personality has appeared in Superhero comics more I'll be surprised (although there was a brief time when Nixon appeared in a lot of stuff, such as an actual supervillain in Captain American around the time of Watergate). Naturally as the cause of so much evil, he's been the target of the wrath of many a superhero over the years, but due to him being a real person actual depictions of him getting killed for his crimes are relatively rare.

In light of the recent posts from[personal profile] history79 I figured I'd share the first 'Marvel Zombies' miniseries which branched off from 'Ultimate Fantastic Four'.

'Marvel Zombies' was a pretty fun idea at first. I think Marvel deserves some kudos for letting their characters be used in such a horrific fashion and Kirkman really went wild with the concept in ways that Millar did not. Plus they got to 'own' the term when prior Marvel Zombies was a pejorative term for Marvel fans.

Of course, Marvel is as Marvel does and they ran the franchise into the ground. They've released five versions of the same hardcover with different covers for collectors. There have been over 50 issues at this point that feature the zombies in one form or another. I think at one point there was a "Marvel Apes vs Marvel Zombies" miniseries to get an idea of how far it's gone.

Disclaimer: The following story is very gory and features tons of zombie-related violence. But you didn't need me to tell you that, did you?

Robert MacQuarrie does a funny recap of Marvel's CIVIL WAR and how it might need some fixing for the next CAPTAIN AMERICA movie.

This was a really hard choice I was remembering how many great Else Worlds there where in the crop of annuals from '94, and I already posted my favourite What If to use for favourite male character... This one ranks a little bit lower for me but it's still a neat concept.

The Beyonder and Galactus kill each other and Reed Richards in the final battle of the Secret Wars leaving the heroes trapped on that strange world. 25 years later there is peace, and a new generation of super powered youngsters.

Not much has changed as to who my favorite female character is; it's still Jessica Jones. She's a type of female character that we don't really see that much in that as the series begins she's basically in a really bad place. She was a superhero but not a really good one. She drinks. She smokes. She swears.

That being said my view is still that the character -- even though she's gotten her act together with a marriage and a kid -- has kind of suffered with her being made a supporting character on non-MAX titles. There's a rawness to the original series that you can't really get across in a mainstream title. The swearing is only a part of it.

Still, the original Alias title remains one of my favorite runs and here is the first issue. If you like it give the other posts I did a whirl and maybe even buy the trades.

AVENGERS X-MEN AXIS BOOK ONE #3 has a dramatic ending. And someone breaks the first rule of the Marvel Universe: Captain America is never wrong.
Also, someone goes through a growth spurt.
