Upset About the Flashes Having Similar Costumes? You're Not the Only One!

So, in this last week's Fanart Thursday thread, the issue of "iconic" and what it means in the New 52 came up, and some people were complaining that Barry's new costume was just an altered version of Wally's. And I couldn't help but find this funny.

See, the issue of Barry and Wally having similar-looking costumes (to the point where it can be difficult to distinguish them from each other when their cowls are up) has been raised before...

My First Comic: JLA #7

The earliest comic I can remember reading was Justice League of America #76, which contained reprints of two earlier issues, #7 and #12. I was only 4 or 5 years old at the time, so I couldn't really "read" it, but the strange imagery definitely left an impression. Rereading it as an adult is a slightly different experience -- Gardner Fox explains everything *to death* -- but no matter how you slice it, "The Cosmic Fun-House" is still an incredibly weird story.

A few years ago current Wonder Woman artist Cliff Chiang put forward a notion for a story featuring Japanese characters who would be inspired by the JLA but filtered through their own culture of anime, toku and kaiju...
