We (the mod team) bring you an apology. And some nice news! And some bad news. But then we think about the good news again!

Now the moderation at s_d here has been just a little bit slack lately. We've been doing our best - and some of us have been doing overtime, which has been internally appreciated! - but: things have not been smooth as the hair on Wolverine's everywhere. This is seen clearly in the five-month gap between requests posts that I brought you prior to January. Beggin' your pardon!

We've been working from the back foot for a good few months for various 'IRL/other reponsibilities/general problems' reasons and unfortunately, (this is the bad news) we're saying goodbye to sandoz_iscariot and kingrockwell as mod team members.

They've served us long and well, and we pop little party streamer things at their departure. Godspeed!

The good news, though - we've got some new kids on our block.

Put your heads together to welcome your new overlords - aeka and sistermagpie.

And now to contrast Barbara Gordon's fight with Gretel, how about 4 pages of Helena Wayne's own personal brand of justice against the Chairman of Kufra himself?

Aside from some cliche dialogue and some blantant misogyny, this was actually a pretty good issue. In fact it was shit tonnes better than the last three issues, which makes me wonder why this mini didn't pick up pace sooner.

As for Helena Wayne's characterisation in this issue...let's just say this issue will either make or break the deal for any pre-existing Huntress fans. I don't think I need to clarify my position on this comm since this is *me* we're talking about, but I will say that this definitely has me excited for the series' conclusion next month, and even moreso with Power Girl making an appearance.

In my experience, most crossovers don't live up to their ambitions. JLA/Avengers is an exception. Also, it's got a sense of humor.

Here are some snippets of the JLA in Marvel's 616 and the Avengers on Earth One. I loved seeing how the two teams react to each other's worlds.
