Sorry I'm so late with this gang, had minor surgery this week that's slowed me down. However, here's 4 pages from LOSH #20, "Vanishing World," the latest installment of the Fatal Five saga.

The plan, it seems to me, is not exactly coming together. Yet.

Tag notes: Mods, I accidentally clicked creator: francis manapul as well as actual artist Francis Portela's tag, can you delete? Also, I could've sworn we had a White Witch tag already?

Four pages from Legion #19, out today. Except for a brief check-in with the crash-landed team, almost the entire issue is Mon-El going toe-to-toe with the Emerald Empress on Weber's World.

Mods, there's no tag yet for the second artist on this ish, Jeff Johnson, can we get one or are we totally maxed out now? He did about half the ish (as you see from the credits on the first posted page) and I hate to just ignore him.

Back again with four pages from the hot off the press Legion of Super-Heroes #18, part 2 of the return of the Fatal Five. You'll recall that last issue in part 1, things fell apart rather spectacularly. We spent all our time with two teams of Legionnaires last issue; this time we check in with the rest, and things aren't looking any better on the home front.

( There's nothing we can do! )

So that's four out of five accounted for: Tharok, Persuader, Validus and the one in the next ish teaser. Will it be faithful old Mano, or someone new in the fifth slot?

Well, as David said in Prometheus, big things have small beginnings, and so to this ish's title, "The Beginning of the End"!

I initially had reservations about this issue given how poorly executed this series has been under Levitz, but this one actually genuinely surprised me with solid characterisation and a compelling storyline.

Interestingly, while Legion Lost is firing on almost all thrusters in the current issue, LOSH #13 is idling in low gear for a bit. It's a bridge issue between the Dominators mess of the past several issues and the next big thing, whatever it may be. Meanwhile, we get to see the Legionnaires going about their workaday business, some of which actually does involve mining. I bring you 4 pages of checking in with the troops.

So there you go. Remember, kids, Legion elections coming up, cast your vote for leader by Nov. 16!

ETA: We've maxed out on tags already, really? I gotta whole slew of newbie Legionnaires to tag here!

It's that time of year again folks. That time of year where yours truly is yet another year older but still perpetually young as always. Aside from the fact that I have the best birthday ever (off on Labour Day, got paid this past Friday, new Doctor Who this past Saturday, new Worlds' Finest later this week with BatCat goodness, what more could I ask for?), to celebrate I'll share with you one of my *very* favourite pre-Crisis stories featuring another fellow Virgo and one that's very dear to me of course.

I give you pre-Crisis Huntress and Power Girl in all their femslashy glory on their native world of Earth-2, kicking ass and taking names. ^_^

So as you'll recall, Brainiac 5 and Dream Girl have been kidnapped by the Dominators. Everybody and their brother knows it's the Dominators. But thanks to POLITICS!!! the Legion has been forbidden to rescue them unless they present proof to the Council that it's the Dominators.

Still bickering, Cosmic Boy suggests Mon-El try magic - either via Glorith (remember her?) or a call to the Black Witch (remember her?). He declines, but it does remind him someone else still exists. So back to the Council they go...

( Reasonable doubt? You be the judge. )

So basically they're just staking it all on that character's clout? Okaaaay.

What's going on there? I've no clue, but I'm happy as long as it winds up eighty-sixing that particular character. Never, ever liked 'em.
