It's been a week already, here's another installment of Heroes!

This time I would like to introduce you to another one of my Heroes-subseries, SuperBuddies!
Which is my own way to both parody and serve as a tribute to my favorite iteration of the Justice League, ever!( Oreos, romantic dates and more after the jump! )

Back when I was spamming the place with Extreme Justice scans, a commenter named as one of several justifiable gripes about EJ the fact that it had Blue Beetle and Captain Atom as coffee-drinking buddies, when prior canon often had them at one another's throats.

In issue #20 (Oct '88) of Captain Atom, which I got for 40p at Kapow last weekend, I think I've found the solution.

( Pal? Amigo? Since when did the Captain and the Beetle get to be so tight? )

In this installment of Bloodlines we get to probably my second favorite of the male Bloodliners (after Joe Public if anyone really wanted to know, or it might be a tie between 'em I tend to go back and forth).

This issue is nice in that it portrays a pretty realistic look on a guy who gets powers after his life has turned to hell, at least to me.

18 pages from a 54 page story.

( Beware HIS fears turned into life! )

...it's the weekend, payday is just around the corner, and it's been a rough week at work.. so with that in mind, it's time for some random, pointless, tooth rotting cuteness... we warned.

( What makes a Robin happy? )

( Chibi Boostle... which sounds like something you'd order from an Indian restaurant )

( And for legality, 31st Century boys... )

Two things:

Firstly, people actually requested more Extreme Justice, so I'm sharing the two scenes in which bystanders read a team-member as Blue Beetle's boyfriend. The surprising part is that neither of these teammates is Booster Gold.

( I'm so worn out from all that cowboy stuff, I feel I could use a whole new body! )

Secondly, a request: Can anyone recommend me any serious/scholarly books, journals, etc. that discuss the phenomenon of "event" comics? I saw that the Sequential Art Journal is bringing out Classics on Infinite Earth: The Justice League and DC Crossover Continuity, and I'm looking for titles like that: stuff discussing the genesis of events comics, and how we got from The Great Darkness Saga through CoIE and developments like 52 to *fifteen* distinct mini tie-ins with Flashpoint. (I know my DC bias is showing here; I'm equally interested in Marvel-focused material for this.)

If I get a good response on this I promise to stop posting Extreme Justice :)
