I have started working on a pretty descent sized Green Lantern John Stewart post as a way to show how they all screw up(I started with Kyle and now i'm moving on to my favorite John Stewart). But since Hal Jordon has been getting put on the back burner by almost everyone lately I might as well post a page from when my second favorite was the man.

The good old days when how Jordon could be awesome without his wildness being blown out of proportion, confident without being seen as arrogant, and a part of a team without being seen as not leaving an impression.

A few years ago current Wonder Woman artist Cliff Chiang put forward a notion for a story featuring Japanese characters who would be inspired by the JLA but filtered through their own culture of anime, toku and kaiju...

Although I hate Parallax, I've always had a soft spot for Final Night. I think it's one of the best crossovers DC ever had, which pitted Earth's heroes against a Sun-Eater bent on eating our sun. In the end, it was Hal Jordan, fresh from the Zero Hour debacle, who saved the day, by sacrificing himself. Say whatever you want about the idea to darken him, I think his sacrifice is one of the finest in all of comics. In fact, I found most of issue #4 deeply moving.

While reading GREEN LANTERN #3 I was thinking about Hal, Sinestro, and Batman. And then it hit me like a power ring construct of a giant green boxing glove:

Hal Jordan doesn't like Batman because Batman reminds him too much of Sinestro.

Any validity to this theory? Maybe Geoff Johns is just writing Sinestro to sound as Batman would at his most Batdickish.

While I know we can't know the backstory and character of every Green Lantern ever, I'm curious to what degree Green Lanterns see themselves as "space cops" or "space fire-fighters." Do some Lanterns see themselves as representatives of law and order (judge, jury and jailer), while other Lanterns are more about fighting disasters and saving lives instead of fighting "space crime"?
