Well last week the first two chapters both came out on the same day, due to that odd tendency where every month all of Marvel's major titles are all shipped out on the same week and here are some pages from each.
( From the story 'Mollifest Destiny' in Runaways #10 )
For the mods, this is six pages from a 32-page book and a 22-page story.
The thing about these two is that they have this great brother-sister vibe. They watch out for each other, they joke, they fight, they lean on each other when their friends are dying (listen, it's tough to be an X-Kid, what can I say), etc., and there's no romantic undertone. When Hellion hangs out with Mercurt, he's actually a nice guy. It halfway makes me want to ship the two of them.
The truth is that the connection between all of the Hellions (Mercury, Hellion, Tag, Rockslide, Dust and Wither--and X-23, even though she was never officially a Hellion) have with each other is something special. (Which is funny because it seemed like at the beginning of New X-Men that the guys we were supposed to identify with were the New Mutants, and the Hellions were supposed to be antagonists.)
Anyway, here are a few moments that showcase their friendship:
( Under the cut. )
Our look at the complicated relationship between X-23 and Hellion in Craig Kyle and Chris Yost's New X-Men concludes: everybody goes to Hell, another couple's drama viciously intersects with theirs, poor Julian gets traumatized some more, and then everything ends unresolved.

Our series hits Part III, easily the longest segment, covering the "Mercury Rising" storyarc that ran from New X-Men #33-36. Laura and Julian take a break from saving each other (though they end up doing that too) to save someone else, and Julian tries to get her to go cold-turkey on killing bad guys. And Emma finally directs her righteous bitchiness at an wholly appropriate target.
Oh, and Laura has clearly been sitting in on Marvel's creator summits, enabling her to predict the future.
Continuing with our series covering the relationship arc of X-23 and Hellion in New X-Men. This time around, Laura becomes more a part of the group, just in time for them to face off with the much-mocked pink Sentinel from the future.
Lots of images, so not for dialup (man, people still use dialup?).
Another little rant about the tags: I hate how, if you add something from the list after you type in a bunch of tags, all the tags you typed in disappear. A lot.
From New Mutants vol 2 #2-3 (Nunzio DeFilippis, Christina Weir, and I think either/or Keron Grant and Randy Green on art)
Edit: DivCut hates me
