X-MEN: The AoA Iceman
Nov. 18th, 2011 07:37 pmWe've been discussing how "all new, all different" Iceman is going to be, and if Iceman is going to be similar to the Age of Apocalypse Iceman. But how powerful was the AoA Iceman, and was he *anything* like "our" Bobby Drake?
Well, no. As I've said, he's more like sentient ice. I don't even think he resumes human form at all during AOA.

Magneto quotes Yogi Berra!

Pages after the cut.

Starved for attention after so much neglect imo.

Aug. 7th, 2011 06:31 pmWell my recent attempt to post a mini-story involving Helena Wayne huntress was foiled (and by foiled I mean I can't read/understand the rules properly) so I will do what any sane man would do.
Post more scans of Chuck Austen in a vain and misappropriated attempt at vengeance.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Havok restoring Iceman out of pee.
( Guess we must call this one a COLD shower eh guys?! CHUCK AUSTEN EVERYBODY! )

X-Men: Schism #2
Jul. 27th, 2011 11:09 pmGreetings True Believers!
Here are some pages and panels from X-Men: Schism #2 that I enjoyed.
I consider this mini-event to be fair so far.
Enjoy!

Taco Bell recently (a week or so ago?) began a comic related special. With any kids meal order, as the "toy" for the meal is a free 12 page comic. The comics are very very amusing stuff and have much of a Marvel Adventures like feel to them. The comics are of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and Iron Man. If you're the sort who doesn't like eating at Taco Bell, fear not! One can also purchase them separately as I did. I'm guessing it'll vary by store but you can get all 4 for something like $6.
Now while each comic has a fun 11 page story one of my favorite parts is a one page strip from Colleen Coover about the issues group/person.
So I'm posting 4 pages, one from each plus a page of the regular story for the Avengers issue to show what seems to be a pretty amazing name usage for Carol Danvers.
( Nono, Carol's codename is not Cheeseburger, fear not. )

X-men #5 Preview
Nov. 12th, 2010 10:29 amCosmicBookNews has the preview as the Vampire army begins it's invasion of Utopia.
All the boring things that happened before are a set up for this... and honestly this looks like fun.
2 behind the cut.

In looking over why certain male and female characters are the least favorite, I think I see the common link. These characters have a "more woobie than thou" attitude. They are jerks to characters who act/believe/think in a certain way, when they themselves have more of a right to act/believe/think that way, but don't. Basically, they *should* be sympathetic to the other characters, but aren't.
Batman is a prime example. "I saw my parents murdered right in front of me, so shut up with your emo prattle about using your powers to make the world a better place, but said powers always keeping you separate from that world."
( Nightcrawler example after the cut, with Ian Churchill art. )

"It was -- it felt good for you, too?"
Aug. 4th, 2010 12:09 amI hoped someone else would post the amazing femslash in Uncanny X-Men 526 so I could post Heinberg's Magneto scenes, but as no one else has stepped up to the plate, here I am. I'm pretty oblivious when it comes to subtext. Most of the time I just don't see the slash unless it's canon couples, but these pages just screamed "Femslash!"
We start with a young woman becoming a mutant in Vancouver. All she knows is that she's incredibly sick, her hair is falling out, and her skin is hardening for no apparent reason (although they're all symptoms of terminal illness, so she has reason to worry.) The X-Men are keeping an eye on her, but not making contact to ease her fears and tell her what's going on until she bolts for the rooftop. Only then, after she's in full blown panic mode, do they introduce themselves and tell her she's probably becoming a mutant.
She freaks out even worse.
This is my first post so I'm not sure how everything works. I think these are the tags:
