icon_ukAs the sun sets (or rises depending on time difference) on scans_daily's "Dude in Distress Week" (and thank you to the mods for it and to everyone who contributed such great issues), I thought I'd make a couple of posts featuring my favourites... First post will be some commissions, the second post will be some classic moments from the past, and the third will be my nomination for perfect "Dude in Distress" issue. And yes, I should probably apologise in advance for the sheer Robin-centricity of them, but frankly you should know me better by now! :D If cute guys in pixie boots aren't you're thing, please feel free to skip them all.

thehefnerHarvey had a small supporting role in a two-part storyline where Jean-Paul Valley broke into Arkham Asylum looking for one of his old enemies. Unfortunately, he ran into a whole lotta released inmates, led by the Joker, who was using Harvey (and his coin) to judge where they should take their fun. The story itself is so unremarkable that I can't remember the plot details (it doesn't help that I don't own the preceding issues of Azrael), but it does feature a couple moments of Harvey crack, most notably these panels:

icon_ukNow you've probably all see this at some point in the past. It was a ubiquitous little thing a few years back, and is still strangely hypnotic, no? (and I bet "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" doesn't have half as sleek a routine

luceanAs I was thinking about the current theme of the week, I recalled two scenes which I have been hoping to post for a while now, both from David Lapham 's superb City of Crime. However, as I looked at both of them, I realized that the context is kind of required and thus going against the theme of the week, but decided to post them anyway with the context leading to those moments of beauty, beginning with Mr Freeze 's wedding plans. This contains two pages from Detective Comics 803, seven pages from Detective Comics 804 and six pages from Detective Comis 805.

And for legality, a little reminder of what Mr Wagner could look like in the right artists hands... This was used as a pin up on the Back of Excalibur 3, y'know, back when being a fun character wasn't anathema or a good reason to kill them off (Though we'd already lost Doug by this point, so things were heading in a downward direction)

It's never been, really, even for a Batgod- so for a man who's been at the job for 1 1/2 years, it's almost impossible to be effective one hundred percent time.
Criminals like the afro-sporting something-planning Peter Scotta can get lucky, and Batman can't defend himself against that luck. He needs to mitigate that factor with help...
( But no one's helping him, because he can't mitigate people's feelings either... )
