So, in case you haven't heard, this month was Green Arrow's 75th anniversary. Given that I was conveniently just reading lots of obscure Bronze Age Green Arrow stuff and was noticed more than little negativity towards the character here at the time, I decided to make a case that there is more to the guy besides preachy rantings and being a dick to everyone. I wished to do this for a while, but real life (and admittedly, Star Trek binge-watch) got in the way and what was meant to start three weeks ago, is on getting out now. I haven't seen anybody do anything else here, so here I go anyway.

At least for a little while...

As I ponder the UK's bewildering referendum decision to leave the European Union I may need to retreat into silliness (it helps deaden the disappintment and pain).

Weirdly enough, my first foray into that is going to be via Jason Todd, in a classic romance comic situation.... kinda....

"Now, are the first six issues about Roy trying to convince Jason it is time to go "legit?" To print up some business cards and start using their special set of skills to help people instead of necessarily killing the bad guys unfortunate enough to cross their paths? Does every new story work as a building block to the next? Absolutely. Guilty!

But month-to-month, for the readers that like to be surprised by the adventure and the tone and the focus from issue to issue... Red Hood/Arsenal is our book!

"In a way, Jason and Roy are the best thing that ever happened to one another — even if they can't always admit it to each other.

Before they met, Jason was a violent, angry vigilante with only revenge on his mind. Roy was a directionless action junkie who took ridiculous self-destructive risks. When they finally wound up in each others orbit something pretty spectacular happened to both guys.

The audience's attitudes towards certain subjects change as time progresses, so what might seem harmless or even amusing to a past audience comes across as offensive or even creepy by one of today! So, I thought that I'd gather up a few for your perusal.*
