So this was requested due to having a similar divergence point to the previous Spider-Man what if that I posted.

This was also something of a historic what if: It was the first to be part of the "alterniverse" imprint, it was supposed to be the start of the new, "darker" What-Ifs (though this story is rather lighthearted overall), and it was the last time of this volume that Uatu was the narrator (though he had been absent in previous issues).

I picked up a few regular comics as well as the free ones on Free Comic Book Day. After the previous post where young Nova asks some semi-relevant questions, I noticed that he's doing it again in Original Sin #0.

As the new kid on the block, I guess it's only fair that he gets to be the viewpoint character for expository information.

I was just on CBR looking at previews and I noticed this little gem in Avengers #11. I just can't believe this wasn't done on purpose, what with the infinity gems giving one power over the world - any world really.

(If you're confused as to what I mean, look at Rhulk's dialogue)

Also, am I the only who thinks Uatu is looking a little fat?

Maybe he's overeating to compensate for his inability to intervene and aid the Marvel Universe. Then again if my species forbid me from helping out those in need (and I happened to be capable of pretty much anything) I'd probably develop a vice myself.

So to finish Rhulk's line for him "He's got the gems in his hands! He's got THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS!"

P.S: I've made Uatu the Fat one my new icon, as it is the only one I've seen so far that makes me laugh as much as my "death scrunchie" Delphyne.

So now everything but the Thunderbolts tie-in's over for Hulk's Scorched Earth, leaving us with the fallout of the Intelligentsia's machinations; Doom's brain damage, a spider legged MODOK, and the Red Hulk.

The last of whom's been establishing his presence in the larger MU, riding along with the Avengers and unwillingly killing Araña's dad. He even seems to be getting Hulk to himself for the next few, while Bruce rages against the gods in Incredible Hulks..

..so now's the perfect time to give him his own enemies, foes outside himself.

People who he can punch in the face such that we're rooting for him, at least. )

After Solve Everything and the Prime Elements arcs, Dale Eaglesham left Fantastic Four, passing Steve Epting as he moved on to some Captain America stuff. Now, Eaglesham's work on Fantastic Four was amazing. It was reminiscent of the Jack Kirby stuff in terms of figure work and the over-the-top style.

Wouldn't it be great if Eaglesham could draw a retro Fantastic Four book? It could be like Iron Man Legacy or Batman Confidential, but for Fantastic Four. I would buy loads of them.

But, Eaglesham sort of has drawn a retro Fantastic Four book, thanks to two staples of the Marvel Universe - Secret Origins ) and What If  )

People have been very generous about responding to my requests for vintage Marvel Team-Up, so I thought I'd respond with the issue that got me into the title in the first place. As it happens, it's a holiday story -- "Small Miracles," by J.M. DeMatteis and Kerry Gamill, issue 127. The main team-up is Spidey and Uatu (... sort of), but there's a brief cameo for you Cap fans as well.

so, it's the 31st century in a divergent Marvel Universe, and there's yet another galactic scourge coming into play.

They're matriarchal world hopping conquerors, you see, who seek out resource-rich worlds using deadly cyborg scouts. When an acceptable world is found, they descend in waves of power armor clad soldiers and highly advanced weaponry, defeating their declared foes and claiming their resources to power their techno-religious highly advanced society.
