I've been wanting to get back to the empty abyss that is Countdown to Final Crisis, but it is such a slog... a dark, unpleasant, and mean-spirited slog that it is hard to get through and muster the energy to do it.

So, let's just skip ahead to the absolute bottom of the barrel. Quite possibly the worst issues of this entire run: #24 & #23, the introduction of Superboy-Prime, aka Superman-Prime at the time.

WARNING: Violence, gore, and vomiting are seen in these comics.

Okay I don't want to ruin anyone's buzz, so feel free to skip this post if it's going to bring you down.

I really like the Zatanna/Bruce dynamic, and it doesn't get enough love, so here's a very bittersweet moment.

Bruce and Clark were trapped in a dream world by Doctor Destiny, and they've finally broken free to reality.

or have they? )

This post is serving two purposes

And the other reason relates to Young Justice too... sorta )

Now that the spectacular train wreck that is Identity Crisis has been covered, we can deal with some of the fallout. A smidge more from Bloodspell (which is 194 pages, if you're wondering), where Zee joins the Justice League at the ripe old age of 17 (Dinah's about 22 or so, so if we're going by JLA: Year One's timescale, this is about three or so years since the team was formed, if you're interested).
