Once upon a time The Spot was this supervillain who defeated Spider-Man (well, for one issue anyway), and instead of quitting while he was ahead he tried to defeat him again:

The Spot nowadays is considered a joke (and he was never meant to be a very serious villain anyway) but the first time he fought Spider-Man he actually defeated the web-crawler. This is how it happened:

Everyone has heard about the infamous story when Hank Pym slapped Janet Van Dyne. But few care to read it to learn how full of great character moments it is. One of them is a lovely sequence with Hawkeye and She-Hulk.

Bonjour, Ladies and Gentlemen! Chocochuy reporting for duty!

It has been a crazy semester for me at the Master of Humanities but I managed to survive with good grades so I am back to continue documenting the story of the most Mischievous Monocled Mugger of the DC Universe, the Gentleman Ghost. Last sessions dealt with his Golden Age appearances so today I am proud to present the Silver Age adventures of our favorite Apparitional Aristocrat. It may be true that he remained in Limbo for a while but he has cleaned the dirt off his hat, taken his fancy suit out for dry cleaning and polished his prized monocle just to return to his artistic business. It's Showtime!

The panels with Tigra from issues one through four of West Coast Avengers volume II, published by Marvel in 1985. Steve Englehart wrote it, Al Milgrom did breakdowns, Joe Sinnott the finishes on 1, 3, and 4, Kim DeMulder finishes on 2. Lettering and coloring was by a rotating team of Bullpen regulars; this was a product of mid-80s Marvel house style; Mark Gruenwald was editor and Jim Shooter editor-in-chief. Issue one was 40 pages, the others 24. These excerpts come to quite a bit less than a third of that.

Greetings True Believers! Conan of Cimmeria is well-known for settling arguments with his sword or axe but did you also know his words are as powerful as his thews? Watch as Conan makes an entire village go "Oh, Snap!" and puts a prideful wench in her place!

Plus as an added treat, a great piece of Conan art by Neal Adams!

And here the last two introduction issues of Kurt Busiek's Power Company series. Started this quite some time ago but boy does school complicate real life so here I am and hopefully no one's angry I'm so slow. :D

We had a request for this in the new monthly thread, so I'm sneaking it in under the wire. Here we have 2 1/2 pages from Avengers #229, my crops but not my scans. The setup: For months and months Egghead and the Masters of Evil have been running Hank Pym around like a wind-up toy, and forced him to work on a longevity machine for Egghead.
