So here we are with the conclusion of Miles' first title. After this there was the three-issue Cataclysm tie-in and then 'Miles Morales Spider-Man' before leading into 'Secret War' in which Miles moved to 616 (or whatever Marvel wants us to call it.)  This is a good drop-off point as any but if people want me to continue I will.

"Fans may be outraged, and there are probably Hawkeye writers who I'm very good friends with who will also be offended," said series writer Brian Bendis. "But the point is that everything that happens in this issue is in character when you discover the hows and whys and wheres."

This week brought news of midnight sales next month for "Civil War II" #3, which clearly positions that as a very important issue, with what's billed as a major character death. We talked a lot last week about War Machine's death; given the early promotion around this upcoming death -- including a Joe Quesada variant of the unnamed fallen hero -- is it fair to say this is expected internally to have an even bigger impact?

Axel Alonso: Yes. It's a big character and his or her death is a major turning point in the story. And the scene in which they die -- everyone will be talking about.

"I was aware of what happened to Rhodey in the Civil War movie when we were putting this book together. The idea of an inciting incident that could equally affect both Tony and Carol very personally was something I wanted to do. I wanted them on equal emotional footing. And, oh my god, guess who is Tony’s best friend and Carol’s sometimes lover? Both Tony and Carol could say of their actions, “Rhodey would want this,” and they would both maybe be right. I didn’t want to do anything too close to the movie but at the same time there just was no other character that could represent something so meaningful to both leading characters." - Brian Michael Bendis
