Red Tornado #5
Nov. 15th, 2011 12:43 pmThey're the fighting robots doo doo doo doo...
7.25 pages from a 22 page story.

Red Tornado #4
Nov. 5th, 2011 11:56 pmSibling rivalry and many a punch!
7 pages from a 22 page story plus one page from DC Universe #0

Red Tornado #3
Oct. 30th, 2011 01:50 amSo it occurs to me that between Young Justice focusing heavily on Red Tornado lately particularly the latest episode it'd be nice to continue my 2 year old old posts of his last mini which introduced his siblings Red Inferno and Red Torpedo (and Red Volcano but he was around a little before the mini).
7 pages from a 22 page story. Sigh. Remember when DC had 22 page stories?
( Inferno turns to the Dark Side? )

Huntress: Protector of Babies
Sep. 16th, 2011 07:55 pm
Huntress. Known for:
- Her short temper.
- Being nutjob by normal civilians (and sometimes even by other superheroes).
- Giving Gotham's criminals a faceful of boot, heel, chair, table, or whatever object comes in handy.
- Shooting pointy things.
- Confusing the hell out of some people on her status of being Batman's kid or not.
All character flaws and DC fuck-ups aside, she does occasionally show her softer side, especially when rescuing children. (And the D'AWWWW moments are *pricesless*).
( At least there's *SOME* consistency! )
Consistent with previous rumours that TDKR is going the Frank Miller route with Catwoman's origin:
"Catwoman is apparently one of the most well written characters we’ve seen in these movies so far and she could potentially steal the show the way Heath Ledger did last time. She does some cool stuff in the movie like jumping out of windows and stealing the Batpod. Her back story is that she has a history of abuse and works as a stripper and is also a pickpocket."
Source.
Right now I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but there's also mention that the previous image we saw of Anne's Catwoman earlier isn't the full Catwoman costume and that she will wear the cat-eared cowl later on the film.
Thoughts?

Dec. 3rd, 2010 12:00 amThis week's ACTION COMICS ANNUAL 13 gives us an untold tale of Ra's Al Ghul and a young Lex Luthor. I know others have already been posted some of it (including one of the pages here), but the issue is forty-six pages long, so this should still be within community limits.

A man of steel, a hand that rocks the world, a fact with unbearable truths attached.
Dec. 3rd, 2010 03:24 pmSo this week gives us the 13th Action Comics Annual, and it's just as much about Lex Luthor as the rest of Action Comics is right now.
Rather than serving as an elaboration on The Black Ring, it's what Paul Cornell calls "kind of a Secret Origin continued", showing us Young Lex out of Smallville with a full head of hair.
There're two stories, one drawn by Marco Rudy and one by Ed Benes, chronicling his life and time before prominence and LexCorp; both pit him against some real movers and shakers.
( The Rudy-drawn one opens the annual, and let's just say listening to the Metropolis OST complements it rather well. )

Nov. 17th, 2010 06:42 pmFour scans from Superman/Batman 78 that I found to be rather humorous.

I had a very negative reaction to the preview for Birds of Prey #3, and wrote about it on my Tumblr, but am re-posting it here, with images added for illustrative purposes.
In total this post contains about one page's worth of art/panels from the BoP #3 previews, maybe a bit over. (Most of them are from the preview on the DC Comics website, but one is from the preview on IGN.) Also, I've included the cover art to Gotham City Sirens #9.
Fair warning: this post contexts a lot of text.
( ranting, ahoy! )
