Amazing Spider-Man #692--The Debut of Alpha (spoilers)

This week was the 50th Anniversary issue of Amazing Spider-Man, which, as has been reported, was also the issue in which Spider-Man's new kid-sidekick, Alpha, made his debut.

Spoilers follow... )

This is Alpha

ComicBookResources has the first preview pages as big changes happen in Peter Parker's life.

Spider-Man: Ve Haf Vays of Making You Talk

So this page from an earlier issue of Amazing Spider-Man (#685 to be exact) is causing some controversy as seen here in which Spider-Man goes along with some...erm..."enhanced interrogation techniques". I figure I'd post the page in question and let you decide.

DO NOT DEVIATE! -- Fairy Quest #1

Paul Jenkins and Humberto Ramos are self-publishing an independent comic series called Fairy Quest using fan-funding methods. Fairy Quest #1 was sold on a limited, convention-only basis a year ago, and the two creators want to reprint it so they can bring it to a wider audience and continue the series.

Fairy Quest #1 - Outlaws

We don't want to be in our story anymore, and you can't make us! )

Paul Jenkins calls this the series Humberto Ramos was born to draw, and I agree. Beneath the cut you'll find their officially released six-page preview (I also got permission from Paul just in case), and here you'll find links to their Kickstarter (fan-funding project page) and FQ homepage if you want to help!

Amazing Spiderman 684

Last issue, Otto Octavious has created a protective shield that can magnify or protect Marvel 616 Earth from Global Warming. He intends to use it, as a last act before he dies. Enter Spiderman and the Avengers, who plan to stop him.

The Sinister Six take on the Avenger's, and both groups have prepped for one another.

Surprise! Otto has better prep-time than Peter Parker, and the Avenger's get their butts handed to them. With Spidey left at his mercy.

We now rejoin the Ends of the Earth.

A grain of sand. )

Spidey and MJ Save The World (Amazing Spider-Man #672 spoilers)

Ever since "One More Day," it seems like Marvel has done everything they can to diminish Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson as a couple, and not just in ret-conning their previous marital status and giving Peter various other love interests to pursue. But then along comes the finale to "Spider-Island" to suddenly remind us why fans loved these two as a couple in the first place.

Mighty Marvel cost cutting measures.

Hoo-boy. Behind the scenes action at Marvel.

Most of the trends I am not happy with... BUT the last one shows a glimmer of promise.
I suspect this topic will rustle some feathers.

Marvel taketh away, Marvel giveth. )

Amazing Spiderman #671 preview

ComicBookResources finally has the fight we've been waiting for. Mary "Tiger balm" Jane with spider powers vs. Carlie "Housewrecker" Cooper man-spider.

Or something like it.

Spin, spin sugar. )
