salinea was interested in reading about it and I thought maybe a few of you might be interested as well.
i tried to do the class justice, i hope i succeeded at least in part.
the discussions were really lively, and the only thing about it that i was disappointed about was that it was too damned short :D

My art collection in review: 2010
Dec. 31st, 2010 12:30 amAh the world of art collecting, there's so much to see, know and so many fun people to interact with. I started at the tail end of 2008 and has spiraled slowly out of control since.
As it's the end of the year I thought I'd post some of my favorite pieces of the year to show off my shiny art.
( Artttttt, after the cut. )

Ornery, unyielding, quick-tempered, terribly busy, and the best damn person to lead the planet's first line of defense, Abigail Brand is my candidate for Awesome New Female Characters Week!

( Let me tell you a few things about Abigail Brand. )
And if you're thinking of complaining about how Beast looks, really, we've heard it all before.

One Perfect Moment: Colossus Returns
Jul. 26th, 2010 09:24 amWarning: This is going to be a long post. First, I've got a few things to say. Then I've got five pages of set-up. Then I've got three pages of the first thing that came to mind when I tried to think of one perfect comic book moment. All in all, the scans come to about 8 megs.
( Some blathering about S_D )
Moving on to the business at hand... Five scans from the end of Astonishing X-Men #5, setting up for one beautiful moment in AXM #6. It took an hour of digging through my poorly organized comic book collection to find those two issues. (Probably silly because I'm sure I could have found scans online with less time and effort. Probably from some archive of S_D v1.) But I think it's worth it, and I hope you do, too.

Aug. 28th, 2009 12:45 amAnd to continue with the Martial Arts week with another Batman post to exemplify my obsession. Now this post proved to quite challenging, as I felt the brawl in this story automatically belonged to this week, kind of, but the story had so many great moments and scenes to choose from while trying not to cross the posting limits. In the end I decided to stick with the fight scene in the beginning and the ending scene, which actually refers to said fight. What is this story I'm writing about? A masterpiece called Batman/Planetary: Night on Earth by Warren Ellis/John Cassaday.
or: no, we don't get an Iron Patriot/Venom versus the Fantastic Four bit.

Into the Blue
Jul. 21st, 2009 02:04 amThe Real First Blue Lantern (not St. Walker!)
It occurred to me that I've seen a Blue Lantern before, one who looks a little bit like this guy...

( 4 Scans from Planetary #10 under the cut... )
