Greg Scott'll be picking those up following Robert Hack's guesting this month.

Gaydos's art and Duane Swiercyznski's writing started this Philadelphia-crime-story take on the Archie Comics character off strongly.

How they ended the initial arc, with the hero confronting the villain, was nicely done.

It was a tight little bit. )

This was a free promotional (for the upcoming Netflix show) comic on Comixology (only eight pages) so I'm posting the full thing. I'll edit/remove them if requested.

It's one painted in Percocet and colored by crime.

It's one where he has to put on the mask of the man he shot (Kip Burland; he's Greg Hettinger) so that he can satisfy the urges calling from within him.

It's one into which two much darker intruded themselves.

They met him in a graveyard. )

Not much has changed as to who my favorite female character is; it's still Jessica Jones. She's a type of female character that we don't really see that much in that as the series begins she's basically in a really bad place. She was a superhero but not a really good one. She drinks. She smokes. She swears.

That being said my view is still that the character -- even though she's gotten her act together with a marriage and a kid -- has kind of suffered with her being made a supporting character on non-MAX titles. There's a rawness to the original series that you can't really get across in a mainstream title. The swearing is only a part of it.

Still, the original Alias title remains one of my favorite runs and here is the first issue. If you like it give the other posts I did a whirl and maybe even buy the trades.
