"I said there were two Marvel heroes whose adventures would be perfectly suited to digital - Dr. Strange and Daredevil. The ability working in digital lends to showcasing the bizarre, unusual ways in which both of them view the world - that was a big lure for me." -- Mark Waid

(Keep in mind that ROAD WARRIOR is a digital comic, where the pages are meant to replace each other on one's screen. Seeing them instead lined up vertically, one on top of another, like in this post, makes for an awkward reading experience at times.)

INSUFFERABLE is a webcomic by Mark Waid and Peter Krause, the first title to come out from Thrillbent, the line of webcomics that Waid and John Rogers recently started up (and which Waid sold his entire comic book collection to help fund).

It asks the question: What happens when you’re a crimefighter and your sidekick grows up to be an arrogant, ungrateful douchebag? What on Earth could draw the two of you back together again?

Here are a selection of scenes from the first six "issues." The full run of the series is available for free at http://www.thrillbent.com.

"Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from."

Greetings True Believers!

Here three scans from Irredeemable #17 that got me thinking. What characters have have a love/hate relationship with their arch-rival? Or what "arching"-relationships have serious undertones?
