Some Chill Bros are GUARDING THE GLOBE
Sep. 7th, 2012 09:57 pmI cannot wait for more of this book. It's simply delightful. Four pages that have nothing to do with the plot behind the cut. (:

As seen below, Original Flavor Diana is now a host for Nemesis. Clotho split off a fragment of Di, her innocent self, and created the Odyssey world to keep her safe and have her raised in the Amazon tradition despite the destruction of the island. As they fight, Nemesis!Di explains that she doesn't need nu!Diana to keep her foothold in the world, but to keep the world's hatred and murder flowing, she has to bring its greatest noblest warrior to heel. So she set about destroying everyone and everything nu!Diana loves, to crush her spirit and make her hate the modern world.
nu!Diana drops the little sketch of Wonder Woman her young friend gave her at Nemesis' feet, and explains that as she lived in the modern world she became part of it - its inhabitants are her brothers and sisters now. So, she's still a noble champion.
( And that's where we piick things up here )
"It didn't work. It could never work...The soul of an amazon could never be bent to your brand of hate. I could NEVER be your champion," Diana says to the fading out of the Morrigan.
But she doesn't notice the Morrigan reappear behind her, and grab the big-ass sword. "In that case, Diana of Themiscyra...YOU CAN DIE!!!" dun dun DUNNNNN
Cliffhanger from Wonder Woman #612
Jul. 7th, 2011 05:39 pmAnd following up on
q99 's link to Wonder Woman #611, we have the last pages of this.... divergent existence... for Diana.
And we find out why it was so vital that Clotho hid a secondary-thread of Diana's life and fate within the main tapestry of Diana of Themyscira's life.
(with nods to
Bluefall, too)
( Let us see if the weapon we have tempered is stronger than the last. )

Diana of the Morrigan
Jul. 7th, 2011 08:10 pmThe latest storyline in Wonder Woman is all about how the Morrigan, War Goddesses once three in number but now two, are trying to reshape Diana to replace their third.
In Wonder Woman #611, we get a vision of what Diana will be like if they succeed.

We're not quite done with the Odyssey ride yet, but 610 gives us a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. 4 pages.
You'll recall that in 609, Dr. Psycho took Diana on a jaunt through an interdimensional space and showed her several of her potential selves/origins, then told her to "create herself." She then fought her way through the forces of nature - metaphorical, I guess - to a Themysciran temple flanked by columns of variant Wonder Women, where Diana recommitted herself to being an avatar of Truth and Justice, I guess.
Then she woke up. In a hospital bed. Being tended to by Dr. Etta Candy. And Nurse D. Prince.
( Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? )
So that's a glimpse of the new setting Wondy's apparently going to settle in. There's at least one more page that has to be posted here; personally I'm thinking
bluefall is just the one to do it. :D

Mar. 27th, 2011 11:08 pmGreetings True Believers!
Here's another fun thing I picked up at C2E2. Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #1. It's a cool retailer variant I got, they did a fun launch gimmick. They sent special variant covers to supporting comic stores that showed the Big G stomping on their store.
Here are a few fun pages. Enjoy!

Last issue story we saw Batman and Joe Public drive away one of the Parasites from Gotham.
Now the Blood reaches Keystone as we introduce Argus. One of the better handled New Bloods since the event, still alive and occasionally he's popped up in Flash's series later on.

Warmonger was an old style British war comic published in the 60s, like Commando, but not as good or popular. It only ran for a dozen issues and generally wasn't great. Here's one extract of two WWII pilots flying a mission over Western Europe and coming under enemy fire.
( One page from Warmonger )
And, for everybody else, Yossarian, by David Hahn, Phil Hester and Keith Giffen respectively, courtesy of the always excellent ( Hey Oscar Wilde, It's Clobberin' Time )
