Now we've got miniseries for Doctor's 9, 10, 11 and 12, it's time to go a little retro as Titan Comics are bringing out a minseries featuring perhaps the world's favourite Doctor, and definitely my favourite classic series companion.

This is the variant cover by Alice X. Zhang.

For those who might think the Jem comic book is too bright and shiny, well the third arc is going in completely the other direction as we meet

Well, it's not often I hear about new graphic novels from the BBC, but there you go.

"SuffraJitsu - Mrs Pankhursts's Amazons" is a three part graphic novel series from Jet City Comics which details an alternate history, with some fascinating roots in the real history of the British Women's Suffrage movement and includes one of the most remarkable women in it.

It's fair to say that a LOT of superhero stories tend to focus on the relation between the hero/protagonist and their father, or even father figure. We tend to hear more of Jor-El than Lara, of Thomas Wayne than Martha (though there have been efforts to amend that)

But a new series looks to tell the story from a different, and long overdue, perspective, that of a single mother raising her superpowered son.

In the words of the creators; "Imagine Superman, but from Martha Kent's point of view. Or imagine Spiderman, but from Aunt May's point of view. This is a superhero story, but from the parent's point of view. But unlike her son, she doesn't have any powers."

This looks interesting, to say the least )

Now, with one (I think only one) not very flattering represntative (and even less flattering than usual) a certain highly popular subset of the Transformers-verse has been rather un-represented so far in the IDW take on the genre...

The Windblade series (#6 of which has a preview up here) which is looking at the introduction of the 13 lost Titans Colonies and how they relate to Cybertron.

As for the subset of the Transformers I'm talking about, well here's a clue;

One word...
