In honour of halloween...I do not, actually bring horror, but a manga based on urban legends and other scary stories is close enough, I think!

1 page of 1, and 11 and change of 35 under the cut.

(Sorry for the misfire, earlier, if anyone caught it...accidentally sent an incomplete post while adding tags.)

NSFW, due to vague nudity. (This chapter isn't too full of it, but further chapters will have more, so it's probably best to have that boilerplated. Heh.)

I'm sure we're all familiar enough with manga to know right-to-left by now, but, still...read right to left. >_>

There really isn't much to say about it beyond that, that won't be revealed as the story progresses, so let's just jump right in. )

Following the furore over the Harley Quinn Try-Out Page, no less a person than Gail Simone sought to put forward an idea with a less controversial, more enjoyable, motif...

One tiny little flash of butt under the cut, so have put the nsfw: nudity tag, just in case.

And as you might imagine, tumblr went a little... wild )

Rejoice! On this day I bring to you several pages of a manga series that is, in my opinion, pretty good: Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, written by Eiji Otsuka of MPD Psycho, and drawn by Housui Yamazaki of Mail. In fact, it seems to exist within the same continuity as those manga, because characters from those series show up in Kurosagi.

I would recommend checking out this series! Unless perhaps you're rather squeamish; then don't. As the title would imply, there are corpses--and while it doesn't deliver grossness or gore for its own sake, it doesn't shy away from showing the various things that can happen to a body. There's not much of that in the scans below, but I'm gonna put not safe for work tags on here anyway.

But what is a corpse delivery service, you ask, impatient rhetorical voice that only I can hear? Also, I should burn things, you say? Well, first things first.

Mysteries await you below this cut )

Greetings to all! I have returned once again to scans_daily. The night is dark and full of terrors... (I apologize for my absence. Life is hectic)

I have some X-Men solicits, a color poster of Marvel NOW's AvX, and some bonus fanservice (I tagged it NSFW just to be safe). Enjoy!

A while ago I posted scans from Milo Manara and Alejandro Jodorowski's Borgia 2; now's time for scans from the first volume:

In part one, one of the most striking events is the death of Pope Innocence VIII, giving Rodrigo Borgia the opportunity to become the new pope, by any foul means necessary.

I can't believe no one's posted anything form this series yet! Joe Casey and Mike Huddleston's series is a send up of tough-guy, macho superheroes, full of sex, violence and profanity, and it's a gloriously twisted and hilarious read. If you long for superhero decadence at its best, why aren't you reading this series?

So like I did with "Batman: Noel", I'm going to post the first 1/3 (more or less) of this story rather than post 1/3 of the whole thing. This is, IMO, something that you should be read in its entirety and an 'abridgement' would do it a disservice.

A while back, some of you may remember this post (Oh what was I thinking with the Plath comment...)

Well, that being said, that post was about the character of Naoko Akagi, mother to scientist Ritsuko Akagi, one of the (sorta) main characters on Evangelion. Ritsuko's case is an interesting one, she's sort of a main character, and she sort of isn't. Obviously the five main characters would be Shinji, Asuka, Rei, Misato, and Kaworu, and then we have Ritsuko and Gendo. (and now meganeko Mari in the Rebuild franchise)
In 1996, after Evangelion ended, Hideaki Anno started to receive death threats from fans due to the unexpected finale that was episode 25/26. Anno was only able to complete it using the budget they had, and it wasn't helped that a few GAINAX employees were found to be embezzling money...still, Anno created the full length feature film End of Evangelion in 1997. While the final two episodes reflected what went on in the characters subconscious, EoE reflected what went on in the physical world. The film was a success, although shocked many, and the manga version of it I'm afraid, isn't much of a happy stroll through merry land either. This post will focus on Ritsuko Akagi, and her downfall and eventual (you guessed it) death.
'They are nothing but soulless containers...mere vessels for the purpose of continuing to protect just one soul...' oh and this post is slightly NSFW due to nudity and possible...gore? )
