Also, Jean's telepathy has futzed out after her long time in the pod.

(Why they didn't just give Iceman the job and let him blurt it out thoughtlessly is anyone's guess.)

I get they wanted a change with human Beast but still missed the furry look so glad it came back.

Its always been my fan theory that Beasts mutation was shapeshiting, with animal-human mixed forms as the theme. Just a slow developer as mutations go. And then he permanently damaged it when he drank that serum.
