Uncanny X-Men #172

The X-Men are invited to Japan to attend Logan’s wedding to Mariko Yashida.

Viper thinks she has gotten clean away, but this is a Claremont book. Storm isn’t going to be beaten that easily.

SHE IS STORM, LIGHTING AND THUNDER HEED HER CALL!!

There's always that one family member who only shows up to start trouble.
Like the aunt who just seems to hate everyone.
Or in this case, the jealous cousin and his asshole girlfriend.

"Strange - the tea shouldn't have that aftertaste"
Little known, seldom used skill of Logan's - tea connoisseur.
With his lifelong struggle against the urge to stab everything in arm's range, he probably has sampled every variety of soothing tea out there.

... so, uh, what was with the Phoenix stuff anyhow?

I can never see the Silver Samurai without remembering that he was created as a minor Daredevil villain, a goon serving the Mandrill to pay off " [his] father's debt! "

(What debt the Silver Samurai's dad had to the Mandrill has never, ever been clarified.)

Fun bit when Wolverine first sees Rogue, naturally pissed off and it's Mariko who welcomes her. Then at the end, Rogue the one X-Man still okay to help Wolvie for a great issue.

Well, that does sound like something Mastermind would do.

Sounds like something Mastermind did. I thought she killed him for it.

Not that I expect death to stick, but I'd think one like his would be a deterrent to f***ing around again after finding out.

Not killed, expanded his mind to cosmic limits which shattered him.

He got better, and spends a bit of this time tormenting the X-Men.
Also Mystique, for no reason that's ever been adequately explained.
(Which I think plays a part in Rogue's jumping ship?)

He doesn't die 'till the 90s, when the Legacy Virus got him.

I can never see Silver Samurai without remembering that he once attacked John Belushi.
