Machine Man: The Living Robot #16

In a unique problem, this issue sees Aaron trying to find his missing arm, which a mystery person kidnapped (armnapped?) at the end of last issue.

And introducing the sinister Madam Menace!

From the team of Tom DeFalco and Steve Ditko.

Picking directly up from the end of last issue, where Aaron used his detached arm to rescue potential love interest Pamela Quinn, while he was busy fighting Baron Brimstone.

In the meantime, someone ran off with his arm and now Machine Man has questions.

Cockblocked by his own arm. Poor Aaron.

While Aaron tries to deal with his missing appendage, elsewhere...

I mean, that seems fair.

Yep, the continuing saga of most of Aaron's co-workers being the f***ing worst. You can bet they're all voting for Senator Brickman. Puttup!

Gears Garvin manages to rig up a temporary arm for Machine Man so he can spring back into action. He manages to track down his errant limb to Madam Menace's hideout, but runs into trouble almost immediately.

Honestly, Aaron's quipping isn't the best, but at least he's trying. Nice that Sunset Bain acknowledges that. It's good to have positive reinforcement.

Menace heads off to sell the mechanical apendage to anarchist Zarkoff. I guess this makes her an arms dealer.

No? Nothing?

Anyway, Aaron manages to slip away and follow Sunset to Zarkoff's ship, where he is set upon by the crew, who appear to have been dressed like they stepped straight out of a jolly musical about tossing on the ocean blue.

In the confusion, Zarkoff attempts to slip away with the case containing Aaron's severed limb.

There's just time for the crew of virile seamen to abandon ship before...

There's not really a mystery as to whether Madam Menace survives, as she's back next issue and teaming up with Senator Brickman. Truly a match made in hell.

Love how all Sunset has to do is change her hairstyle and put on a metric ton of eyeshadow, and no-one will recognise her FIENDISH DISGUISE.
Ordinarily, it would sound implausible, but as this series has proven way too often, the people of the Marvel universe are complete morons.
(She probably didn't even need to bother with the eyeshadow, really.)

... does feel a bit like she's falling into the trap of being unnecessarily evil.
Like, all this messing around with trapping Aaron and stealing his arm and the magnets when she could've just pretended to be on his side or something.
You know, lies and bull, like a real life corporate executive.

What, was Madame MacEvil already taken?
