Avengers #300

Writer: Walter Simonson

Pencils: John Buscema

Inks: Tom Palmer

As Inferno rages, the Captain and the Richardses take on Nanny and the Orphan-Maker.

Gilgamesh of the Eternals is also there, calling himself The Forgotten One for whatever reason.

The heroes discuss returning to the city to fight all the demons, but the decision is soon made for them.

Our ragtag band soon find another hero knee-deep in demons.

Kang is also lurking around at this time, but I had to cut all of that out. He also appeared in Steve Englehart‘s Fantastic Four at this time, because he still wasn’t over Mantis. Was it the same Kang, or was it Kang from two separate points in time?

The answer is yes, of course.

And so, the Avengers were reborn again!
... and for reasons Simonson left the title and we get Macchio and Gruenwald again, bringing us the stirring tale of SUPER-NOVA.

Well, the tale.
... look, they can't all be winners.

Per Avengers Forever, the Kang in these issues is a variant (probably on account of him dissolving) while the Englehart Kang actually is Original Kang.

Sue could have picked Dane up and used him to slice through demons like a hot knife through butter. ...assuming he wouldn't slice through her force field.
