Desert Island Top Ten Comics (series/issues): What is that?
All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged): There are so many! But here's one I found on my computer [no scanner at school :( ] And since I'm unfamiliar with DW re-sizing rules, I'd rather post the link than have a ginormous picture messing with everyones pages.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? God's gift to the comic book industry, duh.
What's your stance on bees? ...My god.

Other fandoms: Supernatural, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Firefly, Bones, Avatar: The Last Airbender
Fannish activities: Meta, discussing recent comics, laughing at scans (esp. Superdictionary :D)

Favourite Sports Team/Player: NE Patriots!
Favourite Writers (fiction/non fiction): Margaret Atwood, Garth Nix, Frank Herbert, Tamora Pierce (from when I was younger, don't judge), Ursula K LeGuin

newnumber6: Ghostly being (Default)
From: [personal profile] newnumber6
Name: newnumber6, 6, ghostly1, call me anything you want almost, so long as it's not insulting. And even that, if it's affectionately so.
Blog/Journal/Site: primarily.
Other places we can find you: I have a mirror here at dreamwidth. I tweet, very occasionally, as starpilotsix on Twitter. I appear on occasional forums (Ships and Giggles primarily now) as ghostly1.
Location/Country of Origin: Canada. Toronto, specifically.
Age: 31.
Occupation: Manual Labourer.
Favourite Writer: Hmmm... I'm assuming this is comic wise only, so I'll go with Brian K. Vaughan at the moment.
Favourite Artist: I don't really have one. There are loads I like.
Favourite Character: Too many to pick. Runaways, as a Team. I tend to go for the 'younger generation' of X-heroes, and obscure characters. My favorite "mainstream" hero's probably Kitty Pryde (and she's not even all that mainstream).
Desert Island Top Ten Comics (series/issues): I couldn't choose individual issues, because they're too small a bit to be satisfying on a desert island. So I'll just choose whole series, counting any continuous 'chunk' as one. Yes, it's vague and arbitrary, but so am I.

1: Runaways (all of it prior to Volume 3),
2: New Universe (DP7, Star Brand, Psi-Force. I'm counting all of it as one because of obscurity points).
3: Old School Power Pack (at least up to 50).
4: Watchmen.
5: Batgirl (Cassandra Cain)
6: Batman, Cataclysm through NML (Trades).
7: New Mutants, original run.
8: Generation X whole run
9: Uncanny X-Men, original Claremont era.
10: Astonishing X-Men (Whedon).

Most of these are favorites, but some of them include issues I haven't read but are with teams/characters/eras I liked so I have something new to read.

All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged): I can't answer this one, I don't have scans on me and there are too many to choose. But my icon contains one of those scenes.
How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? I don't like his art. Beyond that, I don't really think much about him. He stays away from what I like, and we're cool.
What's your stance on bees? I try not to stand on bees, it makes them angry. I actually rather like them, although I'm more of a wasp man.

Other fandoms: SF in general, both TV and written. Specifics... Whedonverses, Trek, BSG, Stargate... loads others. Chances are, if it's SF and aired on TV here, I've either watched it or thought about it at some point, or I haven't gotten around to it.
Fannish activities: I make Icons, although not so much any more, haven't found much in a long time I wanted to icon. I tend to go on long speculations on what I'd do with control of certain fan-properties. I don't so much write fanfic (though I've nothing against it), as fan-speculate, which I love. Otherwise, I mostly just discuss.

Political Leaning: I guess strongly liberal. Pro gay marriage, pro AI rights, and I generally disapprove of pointless wars or savaging people's rights for profit or to impose restrictions on other people on what they do when they aren't affecting anybody else.
Favourite Sports Team/Player: I've never been into sports at all, and I can't really understand anybody who is. They're a mystery to me.
Favourite Performer: Some kind of actor, I guess, since I don't really listen to music. Can't think of a particular, although since I'm a big Whedonverse fan, all of that bunch are possibles.
Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Too many to list. They write SF, though, count on that. Recently been grooving on Vernor Vinge, Peter Watts, Brian Stableford.
Someone You Admire: You. Because you're cool. And people who can come up with people who they admire off the top of their heads.

What else are you into? Writing, I guess. I like Gyros?

What's one awesome thing you did this year? I can't really say I did anything awesome this year, alas. Most of my accomplishments were writing related, I guess. I completed my quasi-Nano goal (50,000 words, but spread out over a number of stories) in 14 days. I wrote an outline for about 36 issues (3 years worth) of Runaways, my own personal Alternate Volume 3, that I'm pretty pleased with on a fannish level. Matt Fraction tweeted about my Doctor Horrible/Iron Man parody Photoshop (inspired by you, scans_daily, in your original version on LJ), but I think the work it self was done last year.

Maybe next year I'll do something actually awesome.

All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged):waaaaay too many choices... guess I'll go with this.

I hate picking favorites. I can never pick just one thing, and I always leave out someone or something I really love from lists.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? dorky, bit of an idiot (see Shatterstar/Rictor comments), bad art, but ultimately I don't really care about him because his art isn't nearly as popular anymore.

  • Belladonne
  • Transmetropolitan
  • Asterix
  • Air Gear, up to where Obama shows up (because I need my daily recommended amounts of gay and crack)

All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged): Honestly, I can't possibly answer this. There are far, FAR too many. And, of course, favourites change at a moment's notice for me, so there's no point saying.
How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? He's terrible. I give him credit for learning some anatomy, but it's way too late in the game to earn him any real respect. He should have done that first.
What's your stance on bees? I support the bees in their eternal war against the hornets. Also: My God.
Other fandoms: Anthro, anime, animation in general
Fannish activities: None outside of SD these days
