Today being X-mas, I've got a couple special post for you guys! So sit back, eat your Chinese food (or am I the only on who has that x-mas tradition?) and enjoy the holidays (emphasis on the plural!) with Madman and friends!

We start off with Madman Comics #16 (December 1999), story and art by Mike Allred and with colors by Laura Allred. Eight and a third out of twenty-five pages.

We start off, not on X-mas, but Halloween, and Frank and Joe go trick-or-treating. Frank's been on the outs with a lot of his friends lately and has been missing them, Mott (from the planet Hoople) especially.

But as they continue along the street, uh oh, it's Mutant Street Beatniks!

There's a fight and everyone sore about it.
Later, on Thanksgiving, Frank and Joe (Joe's dad is there too, but not on any of the pages i have here) find themselves volunteering to serve food to the less fortunate, where they're surprised by a familiar face!

(i went flipping through Atomics #1 to find it, turns out Jack was sick of being down and bitter all the time)

They don't actually drop the "lost friend" at the shelter, he ends up tagging along to Frank's place as well, where they make Jack a costume that won't stick to him as badly as his other clothes.

Playing around further, Jack finds that he has the ability to wildly stretch his body! On seeing this, our "lost friend" exclaims "That's spectacular, Skippy!"

Big surprise, right? Pete, as it turns out, is a retired elf. We'll get more into that later.
Anyway, they plot out a way to get Santa back to the North Pole, but first, Joe wants to make sure they won't be wasting the trip.

So they set off with some X-mas records. They all decide they like the Nat King Cole and Partridge Family albums best, trufax.

As they get closer, Santa starts remembering things. It turns out he was trying a get Pete to come back to the North Pole and help train some of the newer elves, but trouble hit before he could make contact...

Whoops! The monster (Santa calls it a "yoofah") bats their car out of the sky, but Jack (i dunno if they call him Mr. Gum anywhere but the cover in this issue!) reacts quickly and parachutes them to the ground.

The car's done for, and there's still an ice bridge to cross before they hit Santa's workshop, so Joe takes the big guy and makes a run for it while Frank and Jack distract the yoofah!

Jack tells him he'll make it out fine, and as Frank makes it for the bridge (passing a couple of confused snowmen on the way!) Jack suddenly overtakes him and carries him off in an improvised belly-pouch. But the yoofah's still hot on their heels, so the snowmen decide to lend a hand!

Santa thanks the snowmen and the gang heads into the workshop.
Oh, and don't worry about the yoofah, he's a good climber and won't have to worry about hitting that canyon any time soon.

A happy ending for everyone!

As a special X-mas bonus, here's a comic I made last year. It's a little rough (especially the lettering!), but it's still fun!

Happy X-mas!

Tomorrow: What, you thought we were done? Next time we go back to DC, where Black Lightning tells us a bit about another holiday happening during the season!

My favorite version of that song is "I saw Daddy kissing Santa Claus" :)

There's an "I Saw Mommy Fisting Santa Claus" song out there (though that's not its title).

What's slightly disturbing is that it's not the only Christmas song about fisting out there.

I never noticed how good Madman is. The art is so crisp and clear!

I love that they meet supervillains taking half of a kid's halloween candy, and foils their scheme.
