My wank is that Ballesteros's Cheetah powers all come from Circe. He only thinks she transferred them to him, but his powers actually don't derive from Urzkartaga. Circe could tweak Barbara Minerva's powers, but she doesn't have the power to usurp them completely from another god from a completely different pantheon. She knows this, so when Ballesteros proposes the idea of taking over the Cheetah identity, she plays along and lets him think it worked the way he thought. He thought he was speaking with Urzkartaga (since he doesn't really know jack about how it works), but really it was just Dr. Psycho and his Wizard of Oz routine; his feeling of losing contact with "Urzkartaga" is really losing contact with the now-unconscious Dr. Psycho. This is consistent with the woman-hating statements he ascribes to Urzkartaga; Psycho is a misogynist of the highest order. The plant disappears because Chuma absconds with it, later bringing it back to Barbara, who uses Ballesteros as the blood sacrifice to get her powers back.
