The painfully depth of the artwork might have something to do with it, but I think the way the costumes look archaic while still leaning ever so slightly toward Kirbyness by virtue of being so sleek. It really keeps the Asgardians from looking blandly pseudomedieval as they sometimes do. Maybe that's just me.
