It occurred to me today how odd and out of place the Vision's situation is. He was a headlining Avenger since, what, the 70s? They've killed him, de-aged him, and now kind of quietly shuffled him away until he's needed for a Young Avengers story (save his tenure on Mighty Avengers). Any other Avenger would (and has been) restored to status quo, which makes me wonder when/if they're going to do that to this Vision.

They possibly could, but not without a serious brain reboot. This Vision may have the original's memories (and how much of them depends on the writer), but his "core", everything that makes up his personality and emotions, is based on an entirely different person than the original's was.

Maybe he quite likes being there.

I'd rather the current Vision just get a new identity while the old one is finally taken out of storage and fixed.

Me too.

. . . Actually, the fact that no one's fixed the original Vision yet is pretty disturbing. I know Hank Pym came down with a bad case of kidnapped-by-Skrulls but now that he's over it you'd think at the least he'd give it a go.

But he's still got robot daughters to seduce, he's a busy man!

Considering what a mess the old one was in, I would be surprised if anyone bothered with it. Let the old 'droid rest in peace.

Comics already have the Martian Manhunter, we don't need his robot crosscompany copy as well.

Technically, changing Vision back to the original would kill off the character of Jonas. Maybe they'd have to remake him, but yeah.

but wait, isn't Vision 2.0 actually iron lad/chibi!kang's suit with Vision's software? I suppose they could just reboot a "new" vision 1.0 with another body, right?

Hell, 1.0's original body's still in storage from Disassembled, isn't it? Just put it back together with a new look.

Have they ever mentioned the nephew-style connection to Wonder Man? I thought that he embraced Vision 1.0 as a twin after the weirdness of all that brain-pattern stuff was gotten over, no?

That pretty much died after Busiek. Johns ignored the brotherly connection entirely and to my knowledge, hasn't been brought up since.

I thought they already had - didn't original recipe Vision appear in that Captain America Reborn series working with Hank Pym, Reed Richards, and Sharon Carter to figure out what had happened to Steve?

No, that was Vision 2.0 (who has all of Vision 1.0's memories, and hence, Steve's secret message); Hitch just drew him looking older.

It's a bit of an awkward position, being stuck in Limbo unless Hinberg bothers to do something or they need people for a crowd scene.
I really wish some of the more interesting Young Avengers like Vision or Patriot would be allowed to do some moonlighting in between.
