I never thought he was supposed to stand in for nerds. He acts like a stereotypical frat guy.

Guess it makes sense though that, of all the women he could've married, Spiderman would pick one who was a supermodel *eyeroll*. It's not like he would go for the 'mousy librarian' persona. Still, that's just not "joe average" at all. Seems like even his monogamous phase was kinda superficial and sleazy.
