I know the last page says "The End", but are the last two pages switched around? The returned money is mentioned with Bruce and Selina in civvies, before Selina mentions she'd recovered it, in costume.
There's a couple of pages in between that were left out. The story about the recovered money was faked and planted to lure the Cavalier to the warehouse where Batman nabbed him.
I don't know if he's doing everything. Selina discovered it was Mort's work, and she recovered the pension funds. Seems like her work was done off-panel, but it wasn't...uh...not done.
From what I understand of The Return of Bruce Wayne, Batman's self-righteousness is somewhat justified--his ancestors could do no wrong because HE was his ancestors.
Hahahahaha, you say that like anything to do with Leslie matters anymore. Willingham fixed that all up for us right proper, don't you remember?
no but seriously I'm still kind of annoyed with Dixon for not doing anything to really fix that when he was bringing back Steph, it honestly was just as important a piece of the clusterfuck.
I was just noticing some recent Jerry Bingham work on another Batman project with some mild disappointment at an artist I once loved drawing something I find silly.
We actually get a very well-written Selina here. So much better than what passes for her in Sirens.
I'm with everyone on the wonky faces but I thought he drew some really gorgeous scenery in the other pages not shown here -- particularly Peter Leonard's apartment in what's supposed to be North Korea.
I was really annoyed when Selina said Bruce sets himself up as Judge and Jury and Batman says she sounds like the liberal media. Media comments are always a pain, but Batman certainly doesn't play Judge and Jury. Everything he does is just more extreme police work type stuff.
Yeah, I thought that was odd--Batman's sort-of Sherlock Holmes with a cape and better martial arts skills. The police use him when there's something they can't solve on their own.
This is interesting - it's like they're subconsciously flirting with each other by playing their roles to the hilt (Selina's the 'Bad Girl', Batman's the 'Tough Cop'), but they don't admit it even to themselves.
Kind of a spoiler for this week's Batman & Robin, so you've been warned... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Did anyone else notice that this one-shot, in which Bruce and Selina destroy evidence proving Bruce Wayne's company supplies Batman, was released the same week as Bruce Wayne publicly announced his company supplies Batman?
I know they take place at different points in continuity, but I found that pretty funny.

On the other hand, this is well done.
