Why do comic fans get stereotyped so much?

A friend linked me to this yesterday, and I just had to share. Written and drawn by some guy who works in a comic book shop, Our Valued Customers is a webstrip in which he quotes actual things he's heard his customers say.

Some other stand-outs beneath the cut...

It's the "I Wouldn't EVER do that" because I really just imagined it said with shifty eyes and a nervous look around.

Oh, I get it - what TVTropes would call a 'Suspiciously Specific Denial'. Yeah, I can see that now. 'Who, ME? Nuh-uh, I would NEVER do that! No, never! Never ever! Why, what have people been telling you? Hey, answer me! ANSWER ME! YELLING? ME? I'M NOT YELLING! I HAVE A CARRYING VOICE! IT'S ALL LIES, WHATEVER THEY SAID! LIIIIEEEEEEES!'
