I think part of that might be because of who she is as Dove--she's an avatar of peace, so she would not like when someone, anyone, is dying because of a violent act. Not to mention that it's been established that she's somehow related to the White Entity, and was able to create the White Light to destroy Black Lanterns.

In fact, now that I think about it--what if that has to do with their budding romance? She's connected to the White Light, Boston's wearing the white ring, and I think it's safe to bet that he's going to be the White Lantern when this is over, so maybe that connection has made them close?

I can definitely buy supernatural spectrumy forces bringing them together romantically a lot better than I can an actual naturally developed bond, and it works with the theme, so I'll be open to that explanation in the text :)
