The art, just seems really bad. And I'm sick of the Jock/Nerd pairing. It's annoying and played out. I better later on Kon will get an issue about how he can either be POPULAR or be friends with Simon... (Also, do people ALWAYS forget that Smallville is supposed to be NORMAL. Something out of the ordinary, including GENIUS CLASSMATE who can make PARASITE FROGS is a little out-there)
Well, Lemire definitely didn't get the memo about the perceived normalcy of Smallville, since everytime he talks about Superboy it's to say part of it is uncovering the town's hidden secrets.
Besides, this is the DCU--nothing in it is 100% normal.
Since when was Smallville normal? It was always a bit Eerie Indiana to me, a town that seems quiet and normal but underneath it there's a bunch of strange and weird happenings. Plus add the fact that Clark operated there as Superboy, the Legion villains that popped there from time to time and also the fact that this is the DC Universe and there's nothing ordinary about it.
Not even during the Byrne era was Smallville normal, what with J'onn being there for awhile and the Alien Manhunters that hypnotized the residents to keep tabs on Clark.
