Eh, they're just trying to show nuDiana and Superman's first meeting after the oddness that is her current series/ altered timeline. Though how is a good question, in her own title she's on the run from...gods and the US government and already a hero.

Worse. It's a "Make Wonder Woman appeal to the mass audience" which means she's a weaker character who is bound to the tired clichés and tropes that every super hero has been through time and again.
