Speaking personally, I find that the harsher tones of German has a tendency to sound like you're swearing even if you're not (Which can be a plus). On the other hand French or Italian have more of a flow to them, once you get started it really just keeps on going...
Of course, I have the advantage that I can use words from a couple of Scottish accents which are more or less incomprehensible to anyone from outside their immediate area's.
