Finally.. Wonder Woman

Oh dear Goddess my eyes.

The horror, courtesy of ComingSoon and not leaving fast enough. A thousand curses in every language upon the people who green lit this.

(and that says something for this lot)

Where are the red boots? The posture of a Champion?

For legality.

Let Adam Hughes cleanse your mind.

Check down a few; Fifthie already posted it.

Me, I think the posture is /definitely/ a bad sign, but... it's DEK, I'm not expecting a lot.

(I still don't buy that the gold-stuff is photoshopped. Not on the legs, certainly.)

You sure? It's not a big deal to have two Wondercostume posts.

Well it depends on which season he's talking about. Personal favorite: Time Force. Why? Red Ranger got his ass kicked and was killed in episode one. Part of me thought "I thought this was a kids show?" The rest thought..that was fucking awesome.

Pfft. In Space was clearly the best. ;)

I actually never saw Time Force-- I stopped watching around Lost Galaxy, maybe a little bit of Lightspeed rescue. Sounds like I might have liked it, though. :)

Don't you mean RPM (ie the only thing Disney did right with the franchise)?

RPM is a definite favorite too.

I would've agreed before Time Force, but In Space is a favorite too and I liked that it was the ending chapter to pretty much the original PR. Everything came full circle there. That and there was the Ninja Turtle team up.

Yeah, PRiS was the first really (well, comparatively) dark season PR had ever had, and my thirteen-year-old self love what they did with the Psycho Ranger arc, and those last few episodes. Part of the reason I stopped watching after PRiS was because it did lose that connection with the original series-- never seemed quite the same afterwards. Maybe I would have liked Time Force, though...

Hehe, I'd forgotten about the Ninja Turtles crossover. Good times. :)

Ninja Storm for the guy-candy (and a fun set of villains), SPD had Bridge and Sky, but RPM wins hands down for me; A Power Rangers series that starts from the point when everyone on Earth is pretty much ALREADY dead, and a brilliant cast having a ball (Dr K, Ziggy and Dillon, Flynn! :) )

Speaking of Ninja Storm, that, and Jungle Fury I add to my favorites for the sole reason of being rooted in martial arts. Every season, the rangers know it, so I rather like the ones where it's specifically based as such.

I wanted to like Jungle Fury by then I had started watching Sentai and Genkiranger was so amazing that Jungle Fury just couldn't live up to it which is a shame. Of all the seasons to stop doing direct adaptations...granted it then gave us RPM who blew Go-Onger right out of the water.

RPM is the only one where I actually liked Zord fights. Namely the dogfights with the Gold and Silver Rangers. Seriously in pretty much all PR shows, the Zord some weren't bad but just wasn't that interested.

I must admit, I'm having a good chuckle over the intertubez' reactions to this costume. I mean, I definitely think she should have red boots, and I prefer shorts to the long pants, and I certainly wish they were made of a different material. But reactions like io9's, which was that this costume would "make your eyes bleed"?

Really? A leggy brunette in a superhero costume makes your eyes bleed?

Dudes. It's a picture of a reasonably pretty girl wearing an imperfect Wonder Woman costume. Yes, there are lots of reasons to dislike it, many of them the same reasons I knew Superman Returns was going to be a bust the moment I saw Brandon Routh in the suit.

Look at this woman's eyes. This is not Wonder Woman. This is a college 3rd-year in a pretty good, but not canon-accurate, interp of a WW costume. Fancy-shmancy Halloween party stuff. That decision was made by the producers.

And that is why the new WW is going to stink.

One of the best things the producers of the Lynda Carter WW did was stay true to many of the roots and traditions of the comic. They didn't try to "update" her costume (apart from the WW on her chest evoking an eagle rather than an actual eagle, and that's been pretty much adopted as canon anyway) -- they ran with it. Given that the comic, and the series, was set during World War 2, the outrageousness of her costume worked better to hide her identity than Clark Kent's glasses ever could.

The vibe from this in every way is showing the producers' attempt to make it A New And Improved Wonder Woman. They never seem to get that that's not what we want. Pffft.

Actually, it makes my eyes bleed because of the color choice. They picked the most amazing shade of red and blue... I can't say it clashes, but it clashes with something in my eyeballs. My gut reaction upon seeing it was to squint.

Attractive young woman. Cheap-a$$ dollar store costume that my eight-year-old nieces would reject as too tacky for Halloween. Pretty much what I expected.

Can't stop laughing at how hilarible this show is. They must really operate in a bubble if they think comic fans are going to like this. Maybe they're hoping "Normal" *quote unquote* people will like it. But I doubt it.

I apologize for being crude, but I suspect for two prominent reasons that this costume is going to get redesigned pretty quickly once they start filming in earnest. Once they start shooting action sequences and they have to cut every few minutes so that Palicki can put herself back in the costume, I expect they'll start rethinking some of the design elements.

Eh, it is what it is.

I do want to see her stand on her head, just to see if she falls out.

Any use of glue or tape would be considered cheating.
