Yeah, I think the fact that the worst thing Harry ever did to Peter came after his death, and after that reconciliation scene, all the crueller. It's tragic not just for Peter, who has to come to terms , but for Harry, who's lost control to the Goblin one final time.

That's another thing (one of many more things!) that bothers me about Harry's resurrection, actually. Harry isn't really aware of what he did to Peter (and May and MJ), except in the most general "I was the Green Goblin and I hurt people" sense. In fact, even that he's a little unclear on, since he expresses surprise in one issue that Peter knows he used to be the Green Goblin before "realizing" that it's because Peter's friends with Spidey.

That lack of awareness makes Harry's BND character arc -- his struggle with his identity as an Osborn and Goblin, and his struggle to be a better person than he's been -- ring terribly hollow. He's seeking to overcome his mistakes of the past, but how meaningful can that redemption be when he's gotten a free pass for the cruellest thing he ever did, inflicted upon people who care about him?
