Greetings True Believers!

In these scans are a cute bro moment between Logan and Scott and an amusing scene at the UN.

Scott is going to address the UN on Sentinel disarmament and asks Logan to come with him as his one-man security team and "token Avenger".

They talk on the way to the podium.

Awww, they might as well have hugged and held hands.

Scott talks about how much the Sentinels suck and how everyone should get rid of the ones they have and the world leaders say either they don't have them or just tell Scott to pound sand.

Then suddenly!

Kid Omega puts a telepathic whammy on the whole room. The results are interesting.

Someone sics Sentinels on the boys, they trash them and leave. This event spurs the various nations to reveal their robot forces and sparks another arms race. The lurkers behind these events are apparently a new Hellfire Club.

So the entire world was also secretly building sentinals, and they attack a delegation in the UN (an act of war if there ever was one).

So, status quote returned.

How exactly can there still be racism against mutants in a world so THICK with superheroes anyway?

Bad publiclty is the offical reason but my personal cannon is some serious hate monger like tech. If it's been around long enough and is hidden well enough no one would know. It makes no sense otherwise.

Speaking of which--have the X-Men ever fought Hate Monger? That just seems like an utterly missed opportunity if they haven't.

You got something there. It's actually pretty damn perfect and I'm surprised no one at Marvel thought of that yet.

I think Grant Morrison's story "Here Comes Tomorrow" said that Sublime can possess people to turn them against mutants.

My impression was they're still around because... Hey, Giant Killer Robots. There's always a use for those.
