Greetings True Believers!

Captain America: The First Avenger was awesome.

If you haven't seen it, go forth and do so.

Fair warning, under the cut:

Loved it.

Chris Evans did a good job as Steve. A little bland, I give you. No great speeches but good moments. Being a tough little scrapper before the SSS. Not liking the USO routine they had him doing and I liked him getting used to his new abilities.

The Bucky character was pretty throw-away. I didn't really care about him but they had a nice in-scene concerning Winter Soldier/BuckyCap.

Hugo Weaving did a bang-up job as the Red Skull. He was a comic book villain. Plus they did a great job with his make-up/CGI.

Loved the supporting cast. Stanley Tucci was awesome. Tommy Lee Jones was LOL as Col. Phillips, Howard Stark was basically 40s!Tony. Hayley Atwell is just beautiful. I love 40s/50s fashion on women, so hot.

Toby Jones had the look of Zola but not the character, not crazy enough.

Human Torch cameo!

The shield fighting was very cool and they movie was bloodier then I thought it would be and I approve of that.

I liked the base-smashing montage and the Skull/Cap bridge scene. Very iconic, I liked their final battle on the airship. He ain't dead, comic book rules: no body, no death.

HYDRA rocked! The salutes, the oath, the cult-like fanaticism. Nailed it.

The scene with him waking up in the faux-40s! room was cool. I can see them doing that. Sam Jackson is Nick Fury as always.

The Howling Commandos were great background character and that dude really looked like Dum-Dum.

Extra scene: Drool, drool, drool. Can't wait, can't wait.

Verdict: Go see this movie! It's an upper-echelon comic flick.

I thought it was great and i did catch the Android Human Torch in the display case at the World's Fair, which made perfect sense. All and all i really enjoyed myself, as did my friend who i invited along.

ah-HAAA so that's what that was! The way it was lampshaded I knew it had to be geek candy, but it was too quick for me to place it.

I loved how Howard's performance at the World's Fair was practically a prototype of Tony's at the Stark Expo in IM2.
